"Welcome-To-Summer Dance Party at Brookhaven Lab”
The “Kane Daily Band” that was featured in the Music Club’s Concert in the South Room last March 28th, will return to perform at the North Ballroom of the Brookhaven Center on Friday, May 2nd, 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. during a dance social celebrating the beginning of the summer season. Early in the evening, there will be a 1 (one) hour beginner West Coast Swing dance lesson starting at 7:45 p.m.
The band is best known for classic rock, rockabilly, and blues, and features Kane Daily on lead guitar and vocals; George Ellert, an experienced, enthusiastic bass player; Joe DeGaetano on Keys; and the talented Al Henneborn on percussion.
Tickets cost $20(paid in advance, before April 30th)/$35(at the door). Only 200 tickets will be made available. If sold out before the event, no tickets will be sold at the door. (Email reservations will be considered “prepaid").

1-hr. West Coast Swing dance lesson starting at 7:45 pm; the band plays for general dancing from 9:00 pm to 12:00 pm; DJ music in-between sets;

Unless otherwise noted, workshops and lessons are from 7:10 pm to 9:30 pm with a food break in-between, followed by open social dancing up to 11:30 pm at the Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York.
Cost per person: $15(members)/$20(non-members), or $8/$12 for social dancing only without the lessons; members rate applies also to all Bera members with BNL ID, SDLI members with ID, students with school ID, and all subscribers of the Social-L list and the Yahoo DanceLovers group. Tony and Carol Fraser will be teaching Fundamentals of Lindy Hop at The Brush Barn between 6 through 7 pm. Both US Open Swing Dance Champions and ALHC Champions, they bring more than a decade of coaching and teaching experience from around the world, and they now live in Long Island.

The dances will be held in the main ballroom, which contains a circular wooden dance floor and a small stage for bands. The ballroom entrance is on the front-left corner of the building, please take the stairway down.

Come dance to the big band sounds of Mike Fucco’s 17-piece Long Island Jazz Orchestra. As you know, Swing Dance Long Island has moved it’s weekly Tuesday swing dances to Pomodorino Ristorante Italiano in Hauppauge. Please note that we have also shifted the time 1/2 hour earlier.
