Friday, Apr 30, 2010 • George Gee in NYC - Barnard College • Not a SDLI Event

Posted by John on 04/29/2010 • Permalink

Break in a new dance floor and enjoy the fabulous tunes of George Gee. Folks, if you can make it to NYC this Friday this sounds like a great event.  George Gee has one of the best swing bands in NYC and it usually costs you at least $20 to see his band (well worth it that price).

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

(See instructions below)
WHEN: April 30th, 9PM-Midnight

FLUFF AND CHARACTER!:
Hey there, swing fanatics! Barnard College, sister school of Columbia University, has just finished building an incredible student center, which contains a:
brand-spanking new
beautiful
cherry wood paneled
500 person capacity
AUDITORIUM, complete with its own stage and sound system!

Now, we here at CU Swing know that that poor, poor auditorium is going to be wasted on lectures and other boring stuff, so we immediately thought, “Hey! Let’s inaugurate it properly with some good old fashioned SWING MAYHEM!”
And who better to lead us musically (and perhaps even spritually) than the 10pc. GEORGE GEE SWING ORCHESTRA (featuring vocalist John Dokes)!
Now, you might be asking yourself, “What the? A new, spacious, beautiful, hard wood floor? With live music from George Gee himself? This is amazing! But how much does it cost?”
Well, have no fear my friends. CU Swing is by the people, for the people. So, if you’re not a student, this only costs you $10! WHAT!? That’s less than going to the movies!
BUT WAIT! Because CU Swing is by the students, for the students, if you’re a student, you can get in for only $5 dollars! That’s less than most meals! And we accept a student ID from ANY college! So please, people from other swing clubs around the country, come one, come all, to this glorious event!
WOW! This is a lot of information! Don’t worry, true believers, here is a summary and list of instructions.
