Tuesday, Aug 29, 2017 • 5th Tuesday Swing Dance • SDLI
On the 5th Tuesday of the month we like to expand our horizons. This month we’re going to teach the Jitterbug Stroll at the 7:30 lesson. Jitterbug Stroll Demo
We had originally planned to teach the Shim Sham but our instructor isn’t available this month. We will reschedule the Shim Sham lesson for later in the year. Variations of the Shim Sham started in the 1930’s involving complex tap steps. In the 1980s, Frankie Manning created a version of the Shim Sham for swing dancers. If you travel around the world, you’ll find swing dancers doing Frankie’s Shim Sham. Click here for a YouTube preview of Frankie Manning and Erin Stevens doing the Shim Sham
