Driving from the east: L.I.E. west to exit 51. Make right turn off service road or take Northern State west to Exit 42 North, Huntington, Rte. 35 (Rte. 35 becomes Park Ave. after Jericho Turnpike). Taking the train: From Penn Station, 34th Street and 7th Avenue, take the LIRR, Port Jefferson Branch. Get off at Huntington. *This special event is dedicated to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Brookhaven National Laboratory. The 1-hr. video of the 60th Anniversary Revue that was performed on March 21st at the Berkner Hall Auditorium will be played at the South Room. *Dance social this Friday, Sept. 28th, at the Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory! We desperately need more men!! Where are you guys?
Dance lesson: International Samba, Part 1 by Magda Schoeneich; Magda is a seasoned dance instructor and competitor. She has taught in Korea, and other places, and she had competed at the Blackpool in England.
As a matter of fact the following week, she will be competing in Hawaii.
Time & schedule:
7 pm, start of cold food buffet;
8 - 9 pm, Lesson - International Samba, Part 1 by Magda Schoeneich (1 hr);
9:00 - 11:30 pm: Open dancing with digital-DJ (general dance mix by Rudy);
General Admission:
$15 per person! Covers everything!! Includes dance lessons, cold food buffet, and social dancing, etc.
The weekly TGIFs @ Brookhaven, sponsored by the BNL Social & Cultural Club of the Brookhaven Employees Recreation Association (BERA), is held weekly at the Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory(BNL). It is open to the general public. Visitors to the Lab 16 years old and older must bring a
photo ID.

This Friday, Diego Blanco and Ana Padron will teach Argentine Tango from 7:30 to 9 pm. For those of you who don’t know yet these two excellent Tango instructors, they are the main Tango teachers every Tuesday night for Sherry Palencia’s “Argentine Tango Lovers” at Mirelle’s in Westbury. They are gracious enough to agree to come out to Brookhaven Lab to teach Tango. (We also thank Joe Abraham for his kindness to drive Diego and Ana to the Lab and back).
