Take the Long Island Expressway to exit 49N or the Northern State Parkway to exit 40N. The exit sign will say Huntington Route 110. After a few miles you will cross Jericho Turnpike. Route 110 will change its name to New York Avenue (but will remain Rte 110). After a couple of more miles, you’ll pass the Huntington train station on your right. About a mile past the train station at 370 New York Avenue, between Carver and Elm Street, still on Route 110 and right in the middle of the block, you’ll see a big old theater building with a flat marquee up against the building. That’s IMAC. We suggest you drive past IMAC to our north corner, Elm Street. Make a right up Elm and you’ll find a large free municipal parking lot. Park and walk back to New York Avenue to enter the theater.

By Train

If you’re traveling by train, take the Long Island Railroad to Huntington (the last stop on the Huntington line). Take a taxi to IMAC, 370 New York Avenue. Taxis and trains run all night. Ballroom A of the Student Activities Center is located in the heart of the Stony Brook University Campus. They have a wonderful large and modern ballroom for dancing and instruction.

Directions: Nicolls Rd North, Left at the 3rd Entrance Stony Brook Sign. Go up the hill and make a Right onto Circle Road. Continue to 3rd Stop Sign, make a Left onto Campus Drive. Take the immediate Left onto John S Toll Road and immediate Right into the parking lot. Walk in the same direction to the SAC about 500 ft away. It has large glass windows in the front lobby

Driving from the west: L.I.E. east to Exit 49N or Northern State east to Exit 40 to Rte. 110 North. Follow 110 to Rte. 25A, Main Street. Make a right turn. The third traffic light will be Park Ave. Make a right turn. CAC is the first driveway on the right hand side, 100 yards south of 25A.

Driving from the east: L.I.E. west to exit 51. Make right turn off service road or take Northern State west to Exit 42 North, Huntington, Rte. 35 (Rte. 35 becomes Park Ave. after Jericho Turnpike). Proceed to L.I.R.R. crossing, then go three traffic lights. Just after the third light, CAC is the first driveway on the left.

Taking the train: From Penn Station, 34th Street and 7th Avenue, take the LIRR, Port Jefferson Branch. Get off at Huntington. Train schedule is available at Penn Station, or call516-231-LIRR (718-217-LIRR). An off-peak round-trip ticket costs around $14.50 (one-way: $7.25 / peak one-way: $10.25). From the station, the easiest way to get to the Cinema is to take a cab (roughly $5.00).

The Smithtown Historical Society’s Brush Barn is located behind the historic Epenetus Smith Tavern at 211 East Main Street, Smithtown NY 11787 and is not visible from the street. Cost per person: $15(members)/$20(non-members), or $8/$12 for social dancing only without the lessons; members rate applies also to all Bera members with BNL ID, SDLI members with ID, students with school ID, and all subscribers of the Social-L list and the Yahoo DanceLovers group. When you first drive into the Dominican Village, the Amitycenter building will be the first building on your left. You will want to continue straight back (keeping the Amitycenter building on your left), and park in the back lot.
The dance floor is located in the Helen Butler OP Hall & Conference Center within the Dominican Village complex.

From - South and East

Take Southern State Parkway WEST toward New York

Exit # 34 (New Highway) off of Southern State

Make a left at the light (New Highway)

At the traffic light is Route 109.

Continue on New Highway over the Railroad Tracks.

At the first light (Albany Avenue) make a right.

Approximately 1/2 mile on the left you will see Dominican Village

From - North and East

Take Northern Parkway WEST to

Exit # 44 - Sagtikos Parkway SOUTH

Merge onto Sunken Meadow Parkway South

Sunken Meadow Parkway South becomes Sagtikos Parkway South

At end of Sagtikos Parkway - bear right to Southern State Parkway WEST

Exit # 34 (New Highway) off of Southern State

Make a left at the light (New Highway)

At the traffic light is Route 109.

Continue on New Highway over the Railroad Tracks.

Take Meadowbrook Parkway SOUTH

Exit M6 E - Southern State Parkway East toward Eastern L.I.

At light make a right onto New Highway
